In September, children tried their hand at assembling a wooden jungle gym at the Sasayama Childrenʼs Museum in Tambasasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture.
９月に兵庫県丹波篠山市にある篠山チルドレンズミュージアムで、子供たちが木製ジャングルジムの組み立てに挑戦しました。
About 20 children participated in one of the workshops held by the museum.
ミュージアムが開催したワークショップのひとつで、子供たち約20人が参加しました。
The jungle gym is four meters high. It was assembled with 100 pillars and 100 horizontal timbers using the traditional Japanese “nuki method” of construction.
ジャングルジムは高さ4メートル。柱100本、横木100本を、日本の伝統的な手法である、「貫工法」で組み立てました。
Wooden wedges are driven between the timbers to hold them in place without the use of nails.
